Basic concept
The concept I have so far is based on a genre that I feel would fit well with the rest of Insomniac’s games, the basics are that it’d involve aliens and mechanical things. I am thinking that it will be an action/adventure game, centering around one main character that the player controls. I haven’t yet worked out the exact story details, but the main character that I will design will most likely be a human (or some kind of humanoid alien) with mechanical limbs or some such parts. Perhaps with interchangeable parts, to make the character design more complex and interesting.
Milestones
This week is going to be used to do some preliminary sketches and work on researching and figuring out some details on character specifics. Each of these dates are Monday through Thursday; each weekend after these dates will be used to refine ideas and apply any feedback I get throughout the rest of the week.
Dec 7th - 10th: Concept and complete main character.
Dec 14th - 17th: Add any final touches to main character and complete extra limb parts.
Dec 21st - 24th: Start NPC character.
Dec 28th – 31st: Finish NPC character, and start enemy 1.
Jan 4th - 7th: Finish enemy 1.
Jan 11th - 14th: Start enemy 2 (boss character?).
Jan 18th – 21st: Finish enemy 2 (boss?) and refine any previous characters who need more work.
Last week: Use this time to continue refining and finishing anything that was not completed in the previous weeks.
